There is a consensus within Cirque du Soleil  that in addition to the dialogue we conduct with our partners there is also a need to establish an ethical sourcing policy with our suppliers.

In practice, this means instituting a set of measures to ensure that the merchandise we sell has been manufactured in a manner that respects both people and the environment. This is a particularly sensitive topic since a certain proportion of our merchandise is produced in countries at risk.

Therefore, we address the question of working conditions in any negotiations with new suppliers, or in contract renewal negotiations with established suppliers. Our contracts require suppliers to provide solid guarantees in the area of child labour.
