
Sound Designer
For some 20 years, François Bergeron has been exploring a thousand and one different ways of touching the hearts of audiences worldwide—through sound. His work for Cirque du Soleil alone (Nouvelle Expérience, Saltimbanco, Quidam, "O", and La Nouba) has travelled the globe, earning him numerous awards. He was named Sound Designer of the Year in 1996 by Entertainment Design magazine for his multimedia installations presented at the Nike flagship store in New York, and for the Cirque du Soleil show Quidam. In 1999, he and the team of "O" designers shared the Themed Entertainment Association's THEA award in the "Live Show" category.

In addition to his many contributions as a sound designer, François Bergeron manned the console for the 560 performances of the North American tour of Nouvelle Expérience.
In 2002, a few months before the creation of Varekai, he produced the soundscape for the new Templo del Fuego attraction in Spain (Universal Studios/Port Aventura), in addition to having a hand in the creation of the new Tokyo DisneySea theme park in Japan (Porto Paradiso Water Carnival, DisneySea Symphony and Mermaid Lagoon Theatre, among others, for Walt Disney Entertainment). Since 1990, he has worked with numerous museums and producers of variety shows, theatre productions, and musicals in Europe, Asia and North America. In 1997, he received a Drama-Logue award for his contribution to the musical Peter Pan, starring Cathy Rigby, which both toured and ran on Broadway from 1997 to 1999.
François Bergeron was born in 1964, in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec.
