Journées de la culture 2008
Monday, September 22, 2008
Cirque du Soleil has been pleased to take part in the last twelve editions of the Journées de la culture, and this year will be no different!
The weekend of September 27-28, the spotlight will be on Cirque's crafts. Our parking lot will take on a carnival-like atmosphere, with our tour schools showing off their work and know-how while workshops are offered on various topics, including costumes, hats, footwear, textiles and artist training.
The École nationale de cirque and La TOHU's public pavilion will also be opening their doors for this occasion. Step right up and see the school in action, take in the students' performances, discover aspects of the "green" buildings and much more. You won't want to miss it!
How to get there:
Cirque du Soleil and the National Circus School are located at the intersection of Jarry St. and 2e Avenue. The TOHU's public pavilion is located at the intersection of Jarry St. and Iberville St. See map. The 2nd Avenue will be closed for the Journées de la culture. Parking is accessible via St-Michel North and De ville.
Public transit:
From Jarry metro station, take eastbound bus no. 193 (Jarry) until 2e Avenue.
From Iberville metro station, take northbound bus no. 94 (Iberville) until the bus terminal (on 2e Avenue).
By car:
If you're coming from the East, take exit 75 (Saint-Michel) off Highway 40.
If you're coming from the West, take exit 74 (Iberville) off Highway 40.
In order to facilitate movement on the site for persons with reduced mobility, a landing stage has been provided at the corner of Jarry and Paul Boutet streets. Please note that cars cannot be parked at this spot.
