Mural art project in Brazil
Wednesday, December 02, 2009
Throughout the Quidam tour of Brazil, youth participating in programs run by members of Brazil’s Cirque du Monde network (including 25 partner organizations) will cooperate on a one-of-a-kind project.
In each city the tour visits, young people will team up with a professional mural artist to create a section of a mural painting that will eventually measure 6 m x 6 m. The night of the dress rehearsal in that city, the young artists’ work is unveiled in front of local media. On occasion, the participants may also perform for the guests to show off their circus skills.
Before the end of the Brazilian tour, the sections of the mural art will be returned to the partner organizations to be sold locally as a fundraiser for these youth programs.
