Personal/Professional Skills

Most candidates who take the Cirque du Soleil training program are destined to experience a major shift in their careers and personal lives, all in a relatively short time.

For that reason, training includes personal and professional support designed to assist candidates with changing careers, adapting to the training experience and becoming professional artists.

Candidates are also helped to develop the professional skills required for their new career at Cirque du Soleil beyond their role as future artists.

Other Specialists

Health Services

In order to achieve the high quality performances that are required, artists have access to our health support services including:
  • In-House Physiotherapy
  • Athletic Therapy
  • Pilates
  • Strength and Conditioning
  • Massage and a large specialized external medical network.

Our facilities give access to in-house conditioning equipment and programs as well as comprehensive therapy support.

Our therapists are highly trained specialists who are diversely trained in rehabilitative management, preventative strategies as well as comprehensive emergency response management. Their mandate is to assist training artists in maintaining optimal physical condition and allow them to safely expand the limits of their physical performance in close collaboration with the coaches.

Nutrition

Good nutrition is another important part of achieving the performance levels required by Cirque du Soleil. That's why nutritional guidance is made available to artists in training as soon as they arrive at the Studio. A nutritionist is on hand to meet with artists one on one and discuss issues related to losing weight, gaining muscle mass, vegetarian diets, etc.

In addition, group training sessions, workshops and lectures can be organized to enhance basic and specific knowledge about sports and nutrition. Topics like recovering from injury and the food to select before, during and after a training session are dealt with.
