Tickets On Sale Now For Performances Starting 6th January 2010

Cirque du Soleil announced today that tickets for the touring show Varekai have been released for performances at the Royal Albert Hall, premiering on Wednesday 6th January 2010, for a limited engagement.

Having amazed audiences with Quidam during its last visit to the capital, the spectacular Cirque du Soleil is set to enthrall crowds again with its much-loved Varekai. The show returns to the magical Royal Albert Hall where it last enthralled more than 185,000 spectators.

Conceived by Cirque du Soleil’s new generation artistic team including Dominic Champagne (acclaimed for writing and directing The Beatles show LOVE and the sensual Zumanity, both Las Vegas stalwarts), Varekai engages the spirit and art of the circus tradition with jaw-dropping acrobatic choreography set to beautifully crafted music.

About the Show
The word Varekai means “wherever” in the Romany language of the gypsies – and this show promises to take any viewer wherever they dream.

Deep within a forest, at the summit of a volcano, exists an extraordinary world—a world where something else is possible. A world called Varekai. From the sky falls a solitary young man and the story of Varekai begins. Parachuted into the shadows of a magical forest, a kaleidoscopic world populated by fantastical creatures, this young man sets off on an adventure both absurd and extraordinary. On this day at the edge of time, in this place of all possibilities, begins an inspired incantation to life rediscovered. This production pays tribute to the nomadic soul, to the spirit and art of the circus tradition, and to the infinite passion of those whose quest takes them along the path that leads to Varekai.
