Black Carpet

The atmosphere was electric as countless stars paraded down the black carpet for the world premiere; with many of them decked out in their Halloween costumes. Among them was the charming Evangeline Lilly, star of LOST, and comedian Louie Anderson. Joining the other personalities were a great number of illusionists, who were on hand to support their colleague. As well as Paula Abdul, singer, choreographer and judge on American Idol, Dominic Monaghan, who also stars in LOST, Vince Neil of the group Mötley Crüe, Siegfried Fischbacher, the world-famous magician, and singer-actress Marie Osmond, among many others. Criss Angel’s family was also in attendance, not to mention the entire team of designers.

Press Conference

On October 31st, Guy Laliberté, Criss Angel and Serge Denoncourt officially introduced the show to reporters, and remained on hand to field a few questions. The show’s three creators took turns discussing their artistic influences and the technical challenges posed by such a production and their work methods.

The adventure starts at the door.

Behind the box office nestles the gift shop, stocked full of Believe-branded merchandise. There a huge selection of t-shirts, chains, glasses, and flasks awaits Criss and Cirque fans there is something for everyone.

Guests are then ushered through the corridor leading to the theatre. On the way are many holograms of Criss and his rabbits guiding people to the magic. Criss’ voice complements the parade. At the concession stands, in addition to conventional drinks, there are some drinks reflecting the themes of the show. You can sip on an “Illusion,” a “Hallucination” or even a “Mystic.” The atmosphere is understated, but cleverly highlighted with glowing tables that gradually change colors and the chandeliers are made to look like cobwebs. All to set the mood of the piece; you would think you are in one of the Strip’s hip nightspots.
