Cirque du Soleil - OVO

(Le Soleil, Quebec City) Very often our reaction on discovering insects is to recoil and scream. But we would happily adopt the colourful Cirque du Soleil bugs and marvel at their gracefulness over and over again.

From termite mounds to spiders' webs, we ventured through a little ecosystem where the arrival of a stranger carrying a large egg had caused amazement. We also saw love blossom between a plump ladybug and a bluebottle fly.

For the official opening of its new show, OVO, in Montreal, Quebec City and Toronto, Cirque du Soleil will break with tradition and, for the very first time, organize a 25th anniversary gala evening to benefit the ONE DROP Foundation. Each of these three special evenings will culminate in a unique celebration under the company’s 25th anniversary theme and colours.

Our latest touring show, OVO, will have its world premiere under the Grand Chapiteau on the Quays of the Old Port of Montreal on May 8, 2009. OVO is the 25th Cirque production in 25 years. Preview performances will run from April 23 to May 7.
