The music of Quidam is of remarkable dramatic intensity, drawing on influences that range from classical to the most contemporary.

• Features the voices of a man and a child, adding texture and juxtaposition to the music. The male soloist is Mathieu Lavoie, while the then-11-year-old daughter of composer Benoit Jutras, Audrey Brisson-Jutras, sings the role of the child and plays cello.
• A wide variety of instruments are played by the six musicians: percussion, saxophone, synthesizer, electric guitar, classical guitar and strings.
