Blue Man Group at Universal Orlando seeks a full‐time Automation Technician. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience operating and maintaining automation systems for theatrical productions in the entertainment industry. Qualified applicants should have a strong working background in automation control systems including show consoles, drives, winches, and chain motors. Experience with Stage Technologies equipment a plus. The Automation Technician should also have rigging experience and be able to safely climb in excess of 30’ for inspections and repairs. The successful candidate will be a highly collaborative, safety conscious, pro‐active problem solver with a desire to learn and grow in a busy work environment.
Automation Technicians’ responsibilities include, but are not limited to, running a show track, monthly inspections, and regular maintenance of all show elements and equipment. Candidates should have working knowledge of wood and metal fabrication. The Automation Technician must also work collaboratively with all other departments within the company to meet all technical and artistic requirements for the show.
Due to show schedules, candidates must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility preferred as schedule fluctuates with the theme park seasons. This is a full‐time, hourly position with a competitive benefits package.
