Blue Man Group at the Astor Place Theatre is seeking an individual to join the Supervisory team. This position requires extensive knowledge of digital video equipment, video projection, video mixing, and professional playback, as well as the understanding of video, MIDI, and some audio signal flow. QLAB experience is a plus. Candidates should be highly collaborative, proactive problem solvers who are able to inspire staff while multi-tasking within a busy work environment. Strong people management and technical skills required.
Responsibilities include: interface and collaborating with performers and crew; video crew management; scheduling; hiring and training; payroll; attending meetings; budgeting; troubleshooting and maintaining all video equipment within venue; and coordination with other departments. This position would also run 3 shows per week on the video track.
Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of experience with video playback, live video switching and handheld camera work, and projection within the entertainment industry. Flexibility and focus are required in our fast-paced environment. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
