Part-Time Position
 
Blue Man Group at Astor Place Theatre, NY seeks a part-time Wardrobe & Make Up Crew member.
 
Candidates are responsible for a variety of duties within the department and company and should have prior wardrobe experience with a live theatrical production.  Candidates should have a working knowledge of make up and make up application. No special effects makeup knowledge necessary—will train. Strong communication and time management skills are a must. Knowledge of fabric, fabric care, skin care, ability to hand and machine sew, research, writing and organization skills are a plus.
 
Show responsibilities include preset, executing show cues, and post show or turnover duties in a safe, professional and timely manner. A solid ability to communicate with other production departments and within the wardrobe department is extremely important. Emergency and in-show problem solving is necessary on an as needed basis. Outside of show calls, the position can vary, and may include: general maintenance and repair, research and development, administrative organization, ordering supplies, and any other elements of the show that fall under the Wardrobe Department jurisdiction and as directed by the Wardrobe Supervisor.
 
Due to show schedules, candidate must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays. This is a part-time hourly position. Flexibility with scheduling is necessary, as hours and schedule vary seasonally.
