Blue Man Group is immediately seeking a full-time Deck Lead to join its Chicago production. Responsibilities include an extensive and detail-oriented props preset before the show, prop handling and cue execution throughout performances as well as work with a video camera on stage during the show, and post show duties as assigned including stage cleaning.
 
The Deck Lead Position works a minimum of 7 shows per week and daytime maintenance work calls as scheduled, totaling 35-40 hours a week. The Deck Lead is responsible for maintaining and/or repairing all technical elements of the show under their specific track jurisdiction. Strong communication and theatrical props skills (basic troubleshooting, prop repair, construction, etc.) required. All crew positions work cross-departmentally and are not solely restricted to projects within their department
 
Successful candidates will be self-motivated, innovative and enjoy working in a fast-paced and creative environment. Candidates with video knowledge and experience are highly preferred. Those with technical theatre/props and run crew experience are encouraged to apply. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
 
This is a full-time position with benefits. The pay is hourly, based on a 35-40 hour week. Payday is bi-weekly. Candidate must be available to work during the holidays (Thanksgiving through New Year’s) and weekday-day time during matinee season (March-June).
