Social Circus
The cause of youth at risk reflects the origins of Cirque du Soleil. The ways in which get involved are also in the image of who we are and what we do – and reflect our dedication to innovation and originality. We use our artistic expression as our medium of intervention. Circus arts call for teamwork and a combination of strengths and talents – and these are elements that can help young people develop a sense of belonging, freedom, creativity, perseverance and discipline. Circus arts also offer young people the chance to open up, express themselves and use their marginalized status as a tool to make new links with a society that often excludes them. This is how Cirque du Soleil has developed its international expertise and leadership in social circus.
