During the Gemini Award ceremony held in Toronto earlier this week, Lovesick won a Gemini Award in the category "Best Performing Arts Program or Series or Arts Documentary Program or Series".

Lovesick was also nominated in two other categories: Best Direction in a Performing Arts Program or Series (Lewis Cohen) and Best Original Music Score for a Documentary Program or Series (Jorane).

"After almost two years in the making and a few hurdles here and there, says executive producer Martin Bolduc, we are thrilled that Lovesick has been recognized for what it is: a great documentary! This award is a testament to director Lewis Cohen and the whole crew behind the film as well as the artists and crew of Zumanity who were incredibly supportive throughout the process."

Lovesick
Produced by Galafilm and Créations Musca, a subsidiary of Cirque du Soleil Images, Lovesick is a reality-based drama that takes an intimate and disturbing look at 18-and-over Vegas cabaret life, through the lives of the Strip's most provocative performers. Set in Las Vegas during the creation of the new erotic show ZUMANITY, the film tells the dramatic story of the talented and exquisite artists putting their flesh on the line to create this edgy new spectacle.
