COVID-19 - Suspension of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group shows in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV, March 14, 2020 – Following suspension and/or postponements of numerous Cirque du Soleil shows worldwide in recent days, and taking into consideration the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations, as well as the escalation of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group announces today the temporary suspension of the resident shows in Las Vegas including Mystère, “O”,Zumanity, KÀ, The Beatles LOVE, Michael Jackson ONE, and Blue Man Group, effective March 15.

Montreal – May 4, 2020 – Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group (Cirque du Soleil) announced today that it has raised $50 million in interim financing from existing shareholders TPG Capital, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), and Fosun. The new capital addresses Cirque du Soleil near-term liquidity needs amid the continued disruption brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Montreal, April 25, 2020 – Cirque du Soleil is proud to confirm that it will take part in the historic broadcast STRONGER TOGETHER, TOUS ENSEMBLE, a Canadian charity benefit that is slated to take place this Sunday, April 26th at 6:30 ET. Cirque du Soleil will be joining an all-star collection of other Canadian artists, activists, actors, and athletes who will share their stories of hope and inspiration. The show, which has been extended to 90 minutes from the original hour, is a salute to Canadian front-line staff across various industries working in the fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Montreal, April 20, 2020 – In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cirque du Soleil has taken the decision to reschedule the opening of its new Big Top show production, Under the Same Sky, originally planned to take place on April 23, 2020. The show will premiere under the Big Top in Montreal’s Old Port, starting April 22, 2021.
