NEW YORK, NY – February 21, 2017 – Leading consumer experience executive Danny Boockvar has been named President of NFL Experience Times Square, a new sports-themed entertainment attraction coming to the heart of New York City later this year.
Created by Cirque du Soleil and in partnership with the National Football League, NFL Experience Times Square – which is scheduled to open this November – will bring the world of professional football to life. Including a 4D film with exclusive footage, interactive displays that dive into the NFL training regimen and game plan, physical challenges that allow guests to measure up against the pros, and championship memorabilia, the first-of-its-kind attraction will take fans from the stands to the field.
“Danny brings extensive knowledge growing iconic businesses to NFL Experience Times Square,” said Daniel Lamarre, President and CEO, Cirque du Soleil. “Our involvement with this venture marks the first participatory sports-themed attraction for Cirque du Soleil. It is a reflection of our broader growth strategy to further diversify our product offering by creating unique, non-theatrical entertainment experiences.”
Prior to joining NFL Experience Times Square, Boockvar was the Chief Executive Officer of New York Cruise Lines Inc., operator of the world renowned Circle Line Sightseeing. Before that, he served as Chief Operating Officer of the Girl Scouts of the USA. Boockvar also spent over a decade as a senior executive at Weight Watchers International, where he ran U.S. Operations and was responsible for the roll-out of new national service offerings in both North America and China.

Boockvar serves on NYC & Company’s Board of Directors, New York City’s official destination marketing nonprofit organization, dedicated to promoting travel and tourism opportunities, building economic prosperity and spreading the positive image of New York City worldwide. A native New Yorker, he is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he received his BA in International Relations, as well as his JD from University of Pennsylvania Law School.
