BROOKLYN AND LONG ISLAND (April 18, 2017) – Cirque du Soleil will bring its new arena show, OVO, to Barclays Center July 5-9, and to NYCB Live, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum Presented By New York Community Bank from August 30 to September 3.

Tickets to the shows at Barclays Center can also be purchased in person at the American Express Box Office starting Saturday, April 29th at noon (if tickets are still available). The Ford Parking Lot at the Coliseum will open two hours before doors. To guarantee the best rate, fans are encouraged to buy parking passes in advance of the event. For more information, visit http://www.nycblive.com/parking.
What began as a Big Top show in Montreal in 2009, OVO will embark on a new journey, performing the same captivating production in an arena setting, giving more people the opportunity to enjoy a Cirque du Soleil show in their own town.
OVO, which means “egg” in Portuguese, is a production of a colorful ecosystem where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement.
When a mysterious egg appears in the midst, the insects are awestruck and intensely curious about this iconic object that represents the enigma and cycles of their lives. It is love at first sight when a gawky, quirky insect arrives in this bustling community, and a fabulous ladybug catches his eye – and the feeling is mutual.
The cast of OVO is comprised of 50 performing artists from 12 countries specializing in many acrobatic acts. One highlight of OVO is the stunning Flying Act in which a group of scarabs soar high above the stage, from both edges to the middle landing on a platform.
The Creative Team behind the world of OVO includes: Artistic Guides Guy Laliberté and Gilles Ste-Croix; Writer, Director and Choreographer Deborah Colker (first female director at Cirque du Soleil); Director of Creation Chantal Tremblay; Set and Props Designer Gringo Cardia; Costume Designer Liz Vandal; Composer and Musical Director Berna Ceppas; Lighting Designer Éric Champoux; Sound Designer Jonathan Deans and for the first time at Cirque du Soleil: Rigging and Acrobatic Equipment Designer Fred Gérard; Acrobatic Performance Designer Philippe Aubertin; and Makeup Designer Julie Bégin.
Advance tickets for OVO are available now online to Cirque Club members through April 28. Cirque Club membership is free and benefits includes access to advance tickets, special offers and exclusive behind the scenes information. To join, go to www.cirqueclub.com.
The Long Island Family programming platform is presented by Allstate, and the BROOKLYN FAMILY programming platform is presented by AXA.
