Electrics/Lighting Sub – Astor Place Theatre – New York
Blue Man Group New York production at Astor Place Theatre, NY seeks a part-time Electrics/Lighting crew member.
Candidates for this position should have a strong working knowledge of lighting equipment and be able to troubleshoot, identify and repair problems related to the running of the show and maintenance of lighting and show-specific technologies. ETC ION console experience is a plus. Applicants should have a fairly flexible schedule and be willing to communicate with the Electrics/Video Supervisor about scheduling shows.
Responsibilities include: performing preset duties; executing show cues as well as turnover & post show duties in a safe, professional and timely manner; maintenance calls with the Electrics/Video Supervisor as needed. Electricians are also responsible for clear communication of show notes amongst the Stage Manager and Production Stage Manager.
This is a part-time, hourly position, and candidates must have regular weekend availability. Part-Time crew members must be flexible and available for shows during nights, weekends, and the holiday and spring break seasons. There will also be occasional need for weekday maintenance calls as needed. All employees are encouraged to attend full company meetings.
