CIRQUE DU SOLEIL PARTNERS WITH MAIN EVENT TO PRESENT KOOZA IN SOUTH AMERICA FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 2016

Montreal, Wednesday, June 10, 2015

Cirque du Soleil is pleased to announce that KOOZA will tour under the Big Top for the first time in South America in 2016 in a newly formed partnership with Venezuela based MAIN EVENT PRODUCCIONES. KOOZA, originally created in 2007, will be the newest Cirque du Soleil Big Top production to visit South America since the company’s first visit to the continent in 2006.

New partnership with MEP

MAIN EVENT PRODUCCIONES is a highly respected and well established entertainment and sports company in Latin America with headquarters in Caracas, Venezuela. The company has been extremely active in the last few years producing such tours as Il Divo, Aerosmith, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Madagascar just to name a few. The KOOZA tour will benefit from the new partnership Cirque du Soleil has recently concluded with MEP who will be responsible for promoting Cirque du Soleil touring productions in Uruguay, Argentina and Chile.

KOOZA

KOOZA is Cirque du Soleil’s 21st   original creation and tells the story of The Innocent, a melancholy loner in search of his place in the world. KOOZA is a return to the origins of Cirque du Soleil: It combines two circus traditions – acrobatic performance and the art of clowning. The show highlights the physical demands of human performance in all its splendour and fragility, presented in a colourful mélange that emphasizes bold slapstick humour.

Tour plan and dates for 2016 will be announced later.
