Cirque du Soleil JOYÀ celebrates its third anniversary in Mexico

Mexico City, Wednesday, November 1, 2017

The first Cirque du Soleil show residing outside the US and the only one in the world that includes a culinary experience–celebrated its third anniversary at Vidanta’s Cirque du Soleil Theater in Riviera Maya, affirming its success as one of the most innovative, attractive, and exciting multisensory shows in Mexico.

Having as its backdrop the impressive and award-winning Cirque du Soleil Theater, the beginning of the third anniversary was marked by an elegant red carpet in which renowned celebrities and personalities arrived in Gatsby-themed looks evoking the revolutionary fashion of the 1920s, with special guests including Barbara Islas, Roger Gonzalez, Karenka, Sandra Chahin, Memo Aponte and Grettell Valdez; along with some of the most important influencers of the moment, such as Andy Benavides, Chantal Torres and the international Rachel Pitzel; as well as Martin Genest and Richard Dagenais, the show’s creators, and Joel Bergeron, the quality director of 45 Degrees.

Attendees also enjoyed a private function of Cirque du Soleil JOYÀ, a spectacular party to celebrate three years of uniting the performing arts with gastronomy in a unique concept inspired entirely by Mexican culture. The show is a true multisensory experience that captures the audience’s attention from beginning to end with its magnificent interpretations, which may be admired thanks to the proximity to the audience, the exquisiteness of its dishes and the beauty of the surroundings.

During the celebration, Norma Preciado, Director of Lifestyle & Entertainment Marketing at Grupo Vidanta, commented: "We are very excited to celebrate Cirque du Soleil JOYÀ's third year of success. This world-class show continues to evolve and amaze all attendees and we are very proud that it is a must for all those who visit Riviera Maya. The extraordinary work of each of the people participating in this project has allowed us to make Cirque du Soleil JOYÀ an unparalleled spectacle, not only in this destination, but in the country."

To close on a high note, guests enjoyed a spectacular afterparty at the Nektar bar in Vidanta Riviera Maya, where all the attendees had the opportunity to hang out with the artists that make this show possible night after night.

With more than 987 performances and 540 thousand spectators, 40 artists on stage and 200 dishes per show, Cirque du Soleil JOYÀ celebrated its third anniversary of resounding success.
