Cirque du Soleil JOYÀ will host one of the 5th annual platinum ibero-american film awards’ biggest celebrations

Mexico City, Wednesday, February 21, 2018

Affirming its commitment to the arts and entertainment industry, Grupo Vidanta—leading developer of resorts and touristic infrastructures in Mexico and Latin America—will take part in the 5th annual Platinum Ibero-American Film Awards, hosting an unforgettable performance of the multisensory production JOYÀ, Cirque du Soleil’s only resident show in Mexico and its only show worldwide that has a culinary emphasis.

These awards will assemble some of the most distinguished directors, actors, screenwriters, musicians, and producers working in the Iberian Peninsula, Latin America, and the Caribbean. After its last celebration in Madrid, the 5th edition of the awards has come to Mexico to pay tribute to the birthplace of what the Board of Directors have deemed the greatest cinematic talent in the world.

A ceremony of such influence necessitates magnificent celebrations, so several special events will take place prior to the awards ceremony, including an exclusive Cirque du Soleil JOYÀ performance at the Cirque du Soleil Theater in Riviera Maya, as well as an afterparty on April 27th, where celebrities such as Mariana Treviño, Alfonso Herrera y Daniel Giménez Cacho will let loose with live DJs in the glamorous Theater-adjacent restaurant, Nektar.

“Grupo Vidanta is committed to supporting the entertainment industry and the role that it plays for Mexico as a tourist destination. We are very excited to be one of the hosts of these prestigious international awards, and to continue our efforts to support Mexican tourism through the arts,” commented Norma Preciado, Lifestyle & Entertainment Marketing Director of Grupo Vidanta.

Sponsorship of the 2018 Platinum Ibero-American Film Awards extends the constant support that Grupo Vidanta offers the national entertainment industry, from the filming of the James Bond movie Spectre in Mexico City, to strategic partnerships with Cirque du Soleil, and, most recently, with the lifestyle innovators at Hakkasan Group.
